Karen Roby

My name is Karen Roby and I am a pharmacist that is very happy to be working at Mount Horeb Family Pharmacy. I grew up in Madison, graduated from Madison Memorial High School and UW-Madison School of Pharmacy. I started my pharmacy career in long term care, but independent pharmacy was always where I wanted to land. The opportunity to work for Tim Geiger at Mount Horeb Pharmacy presented itself in 1994 and I have never looked back.

I met my husband Dave when we both worked at a long term care pharmacy in Madison. The fact that we both shared a career in pharmacy made the decision to buy Mount Horeb Pharmacy in 2004 an easy one. We worked very hard to serve the healthcare needs of the Mount Horeb community and really enjoyed the relationships we developed along the way. We are so happy that Matt and Jen have chosen to continue to nurture those relationships as well as establish new ones in Mount Horeb and surrounding areas. Patient care is the top priority at Mount Horeb Family Pharmacy and it is apparent as soon as you walk in the door. I am so lucky they have included me as part of their team. I enjoy working with such a dedicated and talented group of professionals. Not only do I get to continue to serve customers that I have known for many years but also am enjoying helping new patients that are learning the benefits of choosing an independent pharmacy for their healthcare needs.

Now that we do not have the responsibility of pharmacy ownership, Dave has retired and I am working part time. We are using our bit of extra freedom to spend time with our two kids, Nick (25) and Elizabeth (22) and our dog Max. We enjoy taking our boat out on Lake Mendota, riding our e-bikes on the amazing trail systems in our area and traveling to warmer destinations during the cold months. I have also started hiking and am taking advantage of Wisconsin’s beautiful Ice Age Trail to log a few miles.
